Sid Tapia / The Drift
The internationally acclaimed artist Sid Tapia in Bondi for mural part 2. ‘taking it to the kids’.
Redscope Films worked with the owners of the building to capture the incredible artist in motion, as he updated the mural on the side of The Drift Apartment buildings in Bondi Beach. There is beauty in documenting the process.
We chatted to Sid Tapia the artist behind the incredibly beautiful murals on the walls of The Drift in Bondi, about his work.
The Story Behind The Murals
The building wanted murals that captured the beach-side feel and energy of Bondi which is where the original ideas of the Mermaid and Poseidon came from.
For the first mural, Sid used himself and his wife as the subjects. For the second murals, captured in the photographs below, Sid used his youngest daughter and his nephew as the subjects. Giving unbelievably cute and colourful results to the streets of Bondi.
